Promotion in High Places

LEADVILLE, Colo. - Capt. Eric Fritz, commander of Detachment 1,Company B, 3-126th ’The Kongs’ General Support Aviation Battalion promotes Spc. Andy Macgregor to Sgt. in Leadville on Dec. 5.
On Dec. 5, two CH-47s left Rochester, N.Y. for Gypsum, Colo. While in route to the training site, they stopped a Lake County Airport, Leadville, the highest airport in the United States with an elevation of 9,927 feet, to promote Macgregor.
The 126th is preparing for an upcoming deployment to Afghanistan and the high altitude of Colorado provides an excellent training site. Over the next few months the unit will be rotating its pilots through the course in order to make the unit mission ready.
